Youth Pride

The 2008 Youth Pride will be held on Saturday, May 10th. Massachusetts Youth Pride is the chief programming of the Friends of GLBT Youth, Inc. It is a celebration of straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth and their allies. Largely organized by a committee of young people, this celebration was started in 1995 as a rally at the steps of the State House and a march through Boston's streets. It is the first of its kind in the country!

The festival has changed locations over the years (State House to Copley Square, Copley Square to the Boston Common), but the message is still clear: regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression, youth demand the right to be safe being who they are in the Commonwealth!
